About The Role & Team

At Amplitude, we’re looking for a Director of Content & Brand to join our Brand Marketing team as maternity leave coverage (approximately March-September). This is a senior, trusted role focused on keeping our content, brand, and cross-functional marketing work moving forward.

We’re looking for someone who is comfortable working at both the strategic and executional level. This role will set clear priorities, make tradeoffs, and move quickly when decisions are needed. Marketing demand is high, and timelines move fast. The ideal candidate will bring clarity, alignment, while ensuring our content continues to drive pipeline, long-term brand equity, and successful product launches.

You’ll partner closely with Creative, Social, Comms, Events, Growth, and Product Marketing leadership and act as the primary decision-maker for content and brand priorities, especially as we bring new AI products and capabilities to market.

This is a part-time contract role, averaging about 30 hours per week over a 6-month period. The anticipated hourly rate ranges from $100 to $130, depending on experience.

As Director of Content & Brand, you will:

Own content strategy and prioritization

  • Set and own the content roadmap and quarterly prioritization
  • Maintain a high standard of quality across all content and creative
  • Empower Marketing with guidelines and purpose-built writing agents.
  • Make decisions about what the team commits to each quarter based on overall marketing strategy
  • Own relationship with key cross-functional teams (Product Marketing, Growth, and Campaigns)
  • Ensure content and brand plans support pipeline and campaign goals

Provide leadership and oversight

  • Run weekly 1:1s and team check-ins
  • Review in-progress work and provide final signoff before content moves to design or production
  • Maintain a high bar for quality, clarity, and consistency across all deliverables
  • Ensure alignment with brand voice, messaging, and visual standards
  • Prioritize quickly, and review work under tight timelines
  • Pull and share the monthly Brand Health Score
  • Review budget monthly, track spend, flag risks early, and utilize budget well.

You’ll be a great addition to the team if you have:

  • 10+ years of experience in content, comms, or brand leadership roles
  • Deep cross-functional partnership experience
  • Experience managing budgets, vendors, and contractors
  • Clear, confident communication and a consistently high bar for quality

You’ll be an amazing addition (with these preferred qualifications) to the team if you:

  • Have stepped into interim or maternity leave coverage roles before
  • Are comfortable building trust quickly and leading teams during times of transition
  • Thrive in fast-moving, high-visibility environments
